来源: KommersantOn the previous day, Rosaviatsia (Federal Air Transport Service) published the statistics for June and 1H 2009. According to the given data, in the first 6 months Russian airlines transported 18.75 mln passengers (a 18% fall as compared to 1H 2008). In June, the volume of air transport was 4.62 mln passengers, only 13.4% less than in June 2008. This shows that the fall slowed down considerably as compared to the beginning of 2009 when the passenger flow was falling 20% monthly on average.
A better market situation allowed four of 10 largest airlines show growth: Transaero is having a 2% bigger transportation volume second month running; UTair’s transportation volume grew 6.4%. According to Andrey Martirosov, General Director of UTair, this growth is the result of an optimized route network and aircraft fleet as well as a larger number of transit passengers through Vnukovo.
Two Rostekhnologii companies also showed growth: Orenburg airlines (+77%) and Vladivostok Air (+35,8%).
GTK Rossiya showed the fastest - 27.7% - fall rate over June. Other airlines with falling figures remain the same: Sibir (S7, with a major part of passengers switching to the affiliated Globus) and VIM-Avia (with lenders suing for a few hundreds of millions of rubles).
