As a result of negotiations between Vladivostok Air and Asiana Airlines, the Korean airline will renew Vladivostok — Seoul — Bangkok flight and launch a new Khabarovsk — Seoul — Bangkok flight under the Code Sharing Agreement with Asiana.Delegation of the Primorye airline was headed by Igor E. Bagelfer, Vladivostok Air First Deputy Director General. Other participants of the Russian party were Igor I. Matsenko, Deputy Director General for Engineering and Aviation, Igor A. Belykh, Director General of Vladivostok Air Representative Office in South Korea, Igor A. Baranovsky, Commercial Department Manager, and top officials of other services and divisions of the airline.
Korean airline was represented by Mr. Sae Yong Kim, General Manager of Foreign Relations and Alliance Department, Mr. Tsang Sook Yoo, Manager of Foreign Relations and Alliance Department, and Mr. Yong Wung Park, Asiana Maintenance Department Expert.
The Code Sharing Agreement will initiate Vladivostok Air’s renewed Vladivostok — Seoul — Bangkok flight and newly launched Khabarovsk — Seoul — Bangkok flight from June 1, 2009. The parties are now elaborating Vladivostok — Seoul — Singapore code-sharing flight.
Vladivostok Air is ready to offer tickets for Vladivostok — Bangkok and Khabarovsk — Bangkok (via Seoul) flights at minimum fares from May 20th, available in all booking offices and at the airline’s website www.vladivostokavia.ru. The airline will also proceed with transfer flights to Bangkok from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Magadan, Yakutsk and some other cities.
Vladivostok Air has considerably enlarged flight geography under its Special Pricing Agreement SPA with Asiana. Presently Vladivostok Air comes forward with up to 30 Asiana flights from Seoul to Asia, Australia, Oceania, Europe and North America.
Along with the Code Sharing Agreement and SPA, the parties discussed possible cooperation in performing Checks B and C for Vladivostok Air aircrafts Airbus А320 and А330. Vladivostok Air was well understood and supported by Asiana Airlines representatives in respect of Asiana spare stock use and prompt delivery arrangement. Due to the geographic proximity of Asiana and regular air communication between Vladivostok and Seoul, this partnership will enable Vladivostok Air to more effectively operate foreign-made aircrafts and provide for continuous flying duty time. From June 1 Asiana will perform ground handling for Vladivostok Air aircrafts landing in Inchon Airport (Seoul).
In conclusion, both parties acknowledged their settled intention to further develop and strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation.
Vladivostok Air is the largest air carrier in the Russian Far East with the air fleet including Tu-204-300, Airbus А320, Tu-154М, Yak-40, Mi-8. From 2004 the airline is a full member of International Air Transport Association (IATA). 2008 achievements of the airline include IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) standards compliance, maintaining performance growth dynamics and air fleet renewal. Ahead is acquiring Airbus A330 and launching new domestic and international flights.
