Passenger traffic to reach 90 mln people by 2013

According to Alexander Povaliy, deputy director of Air Traffic Management of the Moscow Air Traffic Control Center, 46 bln rubles (US$1.5 bln) will be invested in the improvement of Moscow air traffic efficiency, including 29 bln rubles (US$928 mln) of extrabudgetary funds
Today, interest to air transport is growing, witnesses Povaliy. For instance, y-o-y growth of passenger traffic in Domodedovo airport in January-November 2011 is over 15%.
"Currently, the capacity of the Moscow air zone is around 55 mln people - half of Russia's air traffic. We plan to increase the passenger transport to 90 mln people by 2013 – notes Alexander Povaliy. – For us, the expected significant increase of air traffic efficiency is related to modernization of equipment, using digital data transmission and increased capacity of the Moscow air zone and the Moscow airports. 46 bln rubles (US$1.5 bln) will be invested in the improvement of Moscow air traffic efficiency, including 29 bln rubles (US$928 mln) of extrabudgetary funds. We expect first results by 2013".
