Zhukovsky, August 20: MAKS-2011 makes exceptional business program with events held by Russian Transport Ministry, Moscow City Government, Russian Helicopters, Rosoboronexport and European Space Agency
Just a few plain figures: participants of MAKS-2011 were 842 companies from 40 states. 241 aircraft, including 91 airplane and helicopter, were featured in the flight program. According to experts, visitors of MAKS 2011 during the first 3 days were about 100,000 specialists, participants and guests.

МAKS-2011 is the most successful MAKS ever in terms of deals: although final results are to be known later, preliminary results show that a range of important contracts and agreements was signed over the 4 business days, worth more than US$10 bln - a benchmark reached in 2009.

Success of MAKS-2011 proves readiness of infrastructure created by TVK Rossia, a transport and exhibition complex, to events and congresses of world level. Next big event scheduled at this site is Second International Forum "Technologies in machinebuilding" on June 27 - July 1.

Main contracts and agreements signed during MAKS-2011

United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) announced signing solid contracts for over 100 jets (more than 230 if counted with options and MoUs). Total value of signed solid contracts is US$7.5 bln. Cost of options and pre-agreements is over US$5 bln.

UAC and UAC companies also signed agreements aimed at development of competences in creation of composite body jets that are expected to ensure UAC aircrafts' competitiveness.

Russian Helicopters announced signing 2 deals for delivery of Mi-171 helicopters for Russian civil operators, with 40 contracted by UTair and 39 by Gazpromavia. Experts believe total value of the deal is over US$ 500 mln.

Ilyushin Finance Co and Bombardier Aerospase signed MoU for 3 Bombardier CS100 and 7 CS300 with option for 10 CSeries, catalog price of solid contract is over US$640 mln. Ilyushin Finance Co also signed pre-contract agreement for 3 An-158 with option for 3 more for Cubana de Aviacion.

Airbus and Transaero signed Memorandum for 8 A320neo, catalog price of deal is estimated at US$730 mln.

Russian Technologies and UAC signed agreement for strategic partnership.

Russian Technologies and Boeing announced enhancing cooperation in titanium production and processing and enlarging distribution of aviation components and aggregates as well as services. Now, Boeing Flight Services and Jeppesen will cooperate with their Russian colleagues for better efficiency and capacity of the leading Russian airports.

Russian Technologies and Safran Group signed agreement for Russian-French enterprise for production of laser inertial navigation systems.

UAC, Rusnano, Composite Holding Company and VIAM signed 4-lateral agreement for implementation of polymer composites in the perspective civil and military products on the basis of carbon fibers.

Volga-Dnepr and Antonov signed 2 agreements - for modernization of An-124-100 and for market promotion of transport jets An-178.

Rosoboronexport and Aviacor signed agreement for promotion of turboprop An-140. Aviacor also signed agreement with NPP Radar MMS for installation of its equipment on An-140 to create its special modifications.

Airbus and VEB-Leasing signed MoU envisaging cooperation in financing and leasing of aircraft, exchange of experience, expertise and information in financing of aviation equipment.

VSMPO-Avisma and Airbus signed MoU for strategic cooperation in production and supplies of added value products and joint projects. VSMPO-Avisma signed additional agreement for titanium supplies with Airbus and Goodrich.

Novikombank, strategic partner of MAKS-2011, signed agreement for cooperation with UAC, UAC-Transport Jets, Myasishchev Experimental Machinebuilding Works, Ilyushin Finance Co, Russian Helicopters, Mil Helicopter Plant, Kamov, Aircraft Engineering Concern and Aviaagregat.

MAKS-2011 also witnessed an Interregional Agreement for commercial cooperation in aviation envisaging development of regional air transport, development of regional airports, airlines and small aircraft manufacturers. Parties to the Agreement are Ulyanovsk, Moscow, Samara, Tatarstan and Perm regions.

Igor Zolotov, chairman of Aviasalon, and Vildan Zinnurov, deputy governor of Ulyanovsk region, signed agreement for cooperation in exhibitions envisaging a joint event by MAKS and International Air Transport Forum in Ulyanovsk.

A new joint event is a roundtable on Modern Production Chain in Aviation that saw awarding first certificates to Ulyanovsk Special Economic Zone residents by Elvira Nabiullina, minister for economic development of Russia.
