UTair buys 40 new Mi-171, MAKS 2011 - МАКС 2011

On August 17, during MAKS-2011, UTair Aviation and Russian Helicopters signed an agreement for delivery of 40 Mi-171 middle range helicopters. Delivery expected to start in 2012.
In the presence of Prime Minister Putin, the agreements were signed by Andrey Martirosov, general director of UTair, and Dmitry Petrov, general director of Russian Helicopters. The contract envisages full delivery of Mi-171 before the end of 2013.
"Adding 40 new Mi-171 to UTair's fleet develops our business, bearing in mind the drastically growing demand for aviation works with helicopters of this type. "UTair" has more than 40 years of experience in operating Mi helicopters of any class in different regions. Mi-171 will enhance our leadership on the market of helicopter works", noted Andrey Martirosov, general director of UTair.
"UTair is one of the key partners of Russian Helicopters. Today, UTair is the largest civil customer for helicopters in Russia, who contributes in development of Russian helicopter industry - namely, in modernization of serial and creation of new helicopters", said Dmitry Petrov.
The number of Mi-171 (also for modification of Mi-8АМТ) in UTair's fleet is currently more than 50 units. Helicopters that will be delivered to UTair will service the oil and gas industry, make flights to assist in mounting and firefighting, and will be operated within UN contracts.
