Ulyanovsk SEZ eyes potential customers among key Russian, Ukrainian and European aerospace and engine companies, Ulyanovsk SEZ - СЭЗ "Ульяновск-Восточный"

Ulyanovsk region delegation headed by governor Sergey Morozov took part in Paris Air Show in Le Bourget. The main meetings, organized by Ulyanovsk SEZ (special economic zone), were focused on the new special economic port zone at Ulyanovsk Vostochny airport

June 20 saw talks with Motor Sich, the key Ukrainian enginebuilding holding, on creation of a MRO center for engines based at Ulyanovsk SEZ, and Diamond Aircraft Industries (DAI), on locating its production at Ulyanovsk SEZ. During the meeting, an agreement was reached to prepare DAI's technical terms of reference.

June 21 saw meeting with A.Kirilin, general director of ZSKB Progress, one of the leading Russian aerospace companies, on the perspective production of Rysachok aircraft at Ulyanovsk SEZ.

June 22 saw the main memorandum of agreement for a MRO center for narrow body aircraft at Ulyanovsk SEZ with FLT Trading House, part of Avia Solution Group. Avia Solutions Group, with the support of Ulyanovsk government, plans construction of three MRO hangars at Ulyanovsk SEZ of 5,000 sq. m each and open 360 jobs. One of the key factors for Avia Solutions Group was the possibility to obtain significant preferences to create aviation companies in the special economic zone.

June 22 also saw talks with Oboronprom, the managing company for Russian Helicopters and United Engine Corporation, on a component exchange fund for maintenance of equipment exported by Oboronprom, and on the possibility of using the special economic zone to implement industrial projects by Russian Helicopters.
