Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant to modernize mechanical assembly facility, 乌兰乌德飞机工厂

Ulan-Ude/March 14 – Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant (UUAP), part of Russian Helicopters, continues technical overhaul of UUAP. In the frame of the refurbishment, a unit with high precision and high speed spare part processing was created at the mechanical assembly facility of Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant
Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant has bought and launched high precision and high speed spare part processing equipment with digital programming. At the current stage, UUAP is developing mathematic models, technologies and programs for the new mills and is training a few groups of specialists who will operate the new equipment.
Full modernization program of the mechanical assembly facility envisages launch of a few dozens of new equipment units. According to UUAP, 15 mills will be ordered before the end of 2011.
Modernization program at UUAP started in the end of 2008 in the frame of technical overhaul of Russian Helicopters companies. Russian Helicopters plan to create competence centers at UUAP focused on helicopter assembly, production of sections and panels made of aluminum alloys and production of assembly tooling.
Modernization of production system at Russian Helicopters Holding is one of its strategic activities. Technical overhaul of UUAP and other companies of the Holding will ensure the necessary technological base for further increase of production, improvement of quality and technological upgrade of the companies for future development and mass production of the modernized Mi-171М and the high-speed helicopter.
