Rosoboronexport at AERO INDIA 2011: advanced cooperation and joint military developments, 俄罗斯国防产品出口公司

AERO INDIA 2011, the prime Asian event in military aviation held on Feb 9-13 at Air Force Station Yelahanka in Belgaluru, will feature 80 samples of arms and military equipment by Rosoboronexport

During Medvedev's visit to India in December 2010, Russia and India signed a few important agreements including a contract for development of FGFA and MTA, a multitarget transport jet that will serve the air forces of both Russia and India.

"We're starting advanced cooperation and joint military developments. This is a brand new level of trust. Selling ready-made equipment or making licensed assembly is not the same as 5th generation fighter programs, MTA transport jet, BrahMos rockets. This witnesses that Russia is involved in a set of key projects that will define Russia's and India's future defense potential", says Viktor Komardin, deputy General Director of Rosoboronexport and head of Rosoboronexport's delegation at AERO INDIA.

Russia is the first country to transfer to India modern aviation, shipbuilding, machinery technologies. Today, one of the most prominent examples is licensed production of Su-30MKI jets by HAL. This modification was created specifically for the Indian air forces taking into account the high requirements of the Russian manufacturers. India also has a license to produce RD-33 engines for MiG-29 fighters.

Rosoboronexport will also present Yak-130, Su-35 (with 5th generation technologies), two versions of Il-76MD military transport jet, Il-78MK fueling jet, and ship-based MiG-29K and MiG-29KUB, as well as helicopters - Mi-17, supplied to the Indian air forces, Mi-28NE, participant of the Indian tender for supplies of 22 fighter helicopters, Ka-226Т, Mi-26Т, Mi-35М, Ка-31, multitarget helicopters Ansat and Ка-32А11VS.
