Russian Armed Forces adopt new round for airborne combat vehicles BMD-4, BMD-4М and for modernization of infantry combat vehicle BMP-3, Tula Instrument Design Bureau - ГУП «КБП»

According to a decree of Russian Defense Minsitry of Dec 29, 2011, Russian Armed Forces have adopted ZUOF19-1 round for airborne combat vehicles BMD-4, BMD-4М and for modernization of infantry combat vehicle BMP-3The new round presents a qualitative improvement of the fighting characteristics and of the military and economic efficiency of the prospective soft-skinned vehicles.
Development of BMP-3 infantry combat vehicle proved the necessity to create a 100 mm round with HE fragmentation shell. It is the first time that Tula KBP and enterprises from the related industries started development of the new round that was adopted by Russian Armed Forces in July 2000.
