The statements of politicians and representatives of the state agencies made on June 3 at the Parliamentary hearings on the state policy in the area of the military-industrial complex (MIC) development drew a wide response in mass media. The discussion also embraced state order, industrial modernization and army re-equipment
"Engineering Technologies - 2010" Forum is responsible for addressing all the points raised at the Parliamentary hearings", said the Forum Director Alexander Levin. Conferences and round tables of the Business Program of the Forum are devoted to discussion of the MIC problems, overcoming the crisis situation, branch modernization, development of international cooperation. The Forum will start on June 30th with the plenary meeting on the technological modernization of the machine-building complex as the basis of Russia's economic development.

Chairman of the RF Government, Vladimir Putin, also noted that the state arms program sets long-term objectives for the military-industrial complex development. Until 2020 the enterprises are to reach the corresponding level of modernization. The Forum's first conference will be the International Conference "Modernization and renovation of the production and technological bases in the industry. Modern equipment and technologies for machine-building plants - innovative technologies and high-tech equipment".

As the First Vice Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defence Jury Savenko said at the plenary hearings: "MIC is the structural basis of the economy, where more than 1.5 million of professionals are engaged. Regulation of the branch development will determine the re-equipment of the armed forces and the regional social development".

As Dmitry Shugaev, Deputy Director General of Russian Technologies State Corporation, stated, "the Forum ET-2010 should demonstrate the achievements of the engineering industry, show present-day developments, draw attention to the problems and achievements of our country's MIC. The business community, financial experts, scientists, politicians and military people will exchange their views and discuss our common objectives for the near future which will help us to set a vector for the industry's further development and answer the urgent questions".
