Ilyushin Finance Co. bids for supplies of 6 aircraft for Nepal Airlines, Aviaport

Ilyushin Finance Co. (IFC) is participating in a tender of Nepal Airlines for supplies of two wide-body aircraft and four narrow-body aircraft, according to Alexander Lebedinets, deputy general director of IFC.He noted that Nepal Airlines announced a tender in April for purchase of wide-body and narrow-body aircraft. "Envelopes were opened on May 22, with a short list of participants of the second round, featuring IFC and Airbus", comments Lebedinets.
IFC placed two Il--96-300 and four Tu-204-100E for the tender. "If we win, aircraft will be supplied in the framework of export crediting, similar to aircraft supplied to the Cuban airline", he added.
Nepal Airlines commits to purchase 1 aircraft per year during six years.
Nepal Airlines (former Royal Nepal Airlines NAC) was founded in 1958. After getting new aircraft, Nepal Airlines will make flights to Brussels and München in addition to the existing destinations: Calcutta-Doha, Hong Kong, Kuala-Lumpur, Bangkok, Singapore, Dubai and Delhi.
IFC is one of the largest Russian aviation leasing companies, part of UAC, specialized in leasing of long-haul and regional Russian aircraft. IFC was one of the winners of the state competition for state support of Russian aircraft leasing in 2002. Value of its assets reached 24.5 billion rubles over 2007.
Main shareholders of IFC: United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) (27%), Russian Federation represented by Federal Agency for Management of Federal Property (22%), National Reserve Corporation (26%), Vnesheconombank (21%), management (about 4%).
