During HeliRussia-2009, second international exhibition of the helicopter industry which is to take place on May 21-23 in Moscow at Krokus Expo, representatives of Rosoboronexport plan to meet their partners to discuss the plans for increasing volume of foreign supplies of the Russian helicopters.
“We’ll meet the representatives of Russian and foreign manufacturers of helicopters, arrange important discussions of the current contracts and we’ll discuss the prospective projects that can be implemented to increase the volume of export supplies of Russian military helicopters”, - as Sergey Kornev, head of delegation and head of Air Forces department of Rosoboronexport, noted. – “Our specialists will also participate in core seminars, conferences, round tables”.

HeliRussia, which took place in 2008 for the first time, is becoming increasingly popular among the world helicopter exhibitions. This year over 100 Russian and foreign developers, manufacturers and operators of helicopter equipment are participating in HeliRussia. Among the most famous Russian enterprises are Russian Helicopters, MIL Moscow Helicopter Plant, Kamov, Kazan Helicopter Plant (KMZ), NPO Pribor, Rostvertol, Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant.

Stands of the Russian participants show almost all helicopter-related products of the Russian defense and industrial complex: from helicopters to on-board and on-ground equipment, arms, technical servicing systems. They also present popular export samples of Russian military helicopters that are highly demanded abroad because they provide reliable defense of national on-ground and sea borders and civil defense: Mi-35М, transport and fighter helicopter capable of operating in hot climate, high and low mountains, the heavy military and transport helicopter Mi-26, also known as the “big air truck”: this machine has saved thousands of lives all over the world.

The exhibition also presents the Ka helicopter family: Ка-50 “The Black Shark” and its modifications, radiolocation patrol helicopter Ка-31, antisubmarine helicopter Ка-28, ship-based search-and-rescue helicopter Ка-27PS, multipurpose machines Kа-226 and Ka-32 as well as light multipurpose helicopters Ansat and Aktay.

Apart from helicopters, HeliRussia presents training equipment that saves ammunition, fuel and lubricants, reduces training period by 1.5-2 times, increases flight safety and saves the resources of costly machines.

“Order volumes for Russian helicopter equipment show stable growth despite the global crisis, and I mean contracts for millions of US dollars”, notes Sergey Kornev, head of delegation and head of Air Forces department of Rosoboronexport. “Production of this hi-tech equipment is difficult to develop with the pace of the world market but our production facilities do everything to ensure that and we get the highest state support, so I’m sure that we will find successful solutions for our goals”.
