United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) is developing a prospective wide-body small- and mid-range aircraft according to the state contract signed in December, 2008 for “Concept of the program of creating a wide-body small- and mid-range aircraft” in the framework of implementing the Federal Target Program (FTP) “Development of civil aviation equipment in Russia in 2002-2010 and till 2015” (FTP-2015), according to an authoritative source of Aviaport in aviaengineering.

Experience of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft in constructing Sukhoi Superjet 100 has affected the development of the new wide-body small- and mid-range aircraft program.
