MAKS 2009 Press Conference

A press-conference with Zhukovsky media representatives took place at Aviasalon JSC headquarters on January 15, 2009. It was dedicated to preparation of the 9th International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS 2009 to be held on August 18-23, 2009 on the airfield of the Gromov Flight Research Institute (Zhukovsky, Moscow region).
Vladimir Borisov, General Director of Aviasalon JSC, has noted that MAKS exhibition site is to undergo a considerable renewal of the engineering equipment and standardization of external design of exhibition halls, territory zoning for various kinds of exhibition activity, arranging of food courts and a souvenir fair; it is also planned to create a special Business Center at the exhibition site. It will include a well-furnished press center, a conference hall, on-site exhibition office and a service center to ensure effective business communication of both media representatives and business audience.
Vladimir Borisov has paid special attention to the schedule of the exhibition and to the entry control, namely the measures for improvement of the access system.
Journalists were focused on downsizing of the length of the static display due to expanded areas for efficient accommodation of aircraft samples and comfortable conditions for their observation.
Vladimir Borisov noted the importance of smooth blending in the current crisis conditions.
Nikolay Zanegin, deputy General Director of Aviasalon JSC, has taken part in the press-conference and spoke about the formation of the list of exhibitors. The list of registered applications includes the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos), Air Defense Group Almaz-Antey, Tactical Missiles Corporation. The leading world aviation manufactures have also confirmed their participation in MAKS 2009.
The second European Congress for Transport Aviation will take place for the first time together with the German-Russian Economic Alliance. This event is considered a serious achievement of MAKS 2009.
Nikolay Zanegin expressed confidence that the program promises to be traditionally colorful and dynamic. A lot of attention was given to the technical creativity of young people and to a special children's program as an initiative of Yuri Shogin, Executive Director of Aviasalon.
At the end of the press-conference the management of Aviasalon JSC assured mass-media that such media meetings will be held on a regular basis from now on.
