Mikhail Pogosyan steps in as RAC «MiG» Director General, Russian Aircraft Corporation MiG

Moscow, 11th January 2009 - JSC «Russian Aircraft Corporation «MiG» held the enlarged meeting with the participation of Mikhail Pogosyan, JSC «RAC «MiG» Director General, Alexey Fedorov, JSC «RAC «MiG» Board of Directors Chairman and JSC «United Aircraft Corporation» President, and chiefs of RAC «MiG» organization departments.
At the meeting the Corporation current state of affairs, perspective development and complex program of financial situation improvement were discussed. In particular it was highlighted that RAC «MiG» potential and Russian Government support enable to overcome existing problems.
Alexey Fedorov stated: «Mikhail Pogosyan retains the positions of «Sukhoi Company» Director General and JSC «UAC» First Vice-President on program co-ordination. His activities in the capacity of RAC «MiG» Director General are aimed at creating «Combat aviation» unit within UAC».
JSC «UAC» President has also pointed out that «Mikhail Pogosyan is well aware of the current situation at «MiG» since being active as Corporation’s Board of Directors member».
From his part Mikhail Pogosyan stated: «In 2009 RAC «MiG» is to deliver aircraft to Russia’s Defense Ministry and foreign customers. I have confidence that Corporation’s team will be equal to these tasks».
Mikhail Pogosyan also highlighted that «current policy to integrate «MiG» and «Sukhoi» potentials will enable joining both companies’ efforts for the sake of Russia’s combat aviation development. We aim at synergetic effect due to optimization of infrastructure, operation expenditures’ cutback, following common technical policy, improving quality of after-sale support».
