ELARA Starts Manufacturing Ultramodern Aircraft Instruments , ELARA - ОАО "ЭЛАРА"

Russian avionics manufacturer ELARA OAO has begun serial production of CDMS-2MT units developed by Barco NV, as part of a Belgian-Russian joint project.
The project is being implemented within the frame of the General Contract concluded between ELARA OAO, FGUP NIIAO, Zhukovsky and Barco, Belgium. The CDMS-2MT unit is a hardware component of VSS-95M-1 aircraft navigation system computer developed by FGUP NIIAO and installed at TU-214, Il-96, Il-114 and Be-200 aircrafts.
The presentation was attended by distinguished guests - N.V. Fyodorov, the President of the Chuvash Republic, Yu.P. Voloshin, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Industry and Energy of the Chuvash Republic, Bertrand de Crombrugghe - Ambassador Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to Russia, the management of the United Aircraft Corporation, the management of the Aircraft Systems Office of the Department for Corporate Management and Development of ROSTECHNOLOGIES State Corporation and the management of Barco Avionics (the department of Barco, NV).
For about 40 years ELARA has been specialized in manufacture of avionics precision instruments installed at the most well-known Russian aircrafts and helicopters. But miniature instrument units developed and manufactured using highest nanotechnologies according to the world quality standards are the recent development in aircraft instrument engineering. They are responsible for the whole mission area of the aircraft navigation system and will be very useful to modern aircrafts pilots.
As Nikolai Fyodorov, the President of Chuvashia noted, 'This is avionics of the XXI century and super modern technologies. The fact that the Cheboksary project is carried out by researchers and manufacturers together with Belgium, the leading country of the European Community in spite of the world financial crisis makes it more significant.'
It is an example of strategic success of cooperation between Russia and the European Community in a hard reality and a part of anti-recessionary measures plan concerned with the country development. 'I am sure that this project will be effective over 10, 15, 50 years and even longer and will allow the company and its fantastically talented staff to stand any hardships and build up an additional strength reserve', Nikolai Fyodorov pointed out.
'It is a long-run project', the Belgian Ambassador Bertrand de Crombrugghe noted while making a speech at the presentation. He expressed confidence that Barco, one of the best Belgian companies, will broaden its economic ties here and will invest more. 'We have already seen for ourselves that Chuvashia represented by the Cheboksary company ELARA is a very reliable partner', the Ambassador said.
According to Barco representatives and personally general managers, Guy Putman and Ives Vanhauwaert, when choosing a partner they pay particular attention to availability of high technologies and highly-qualified personnel which they found at ELARA. Judging the company potential on its merits, Belgians without hesitation make a choice of a partner. Thus, launching the joint Russian-Belgian project ELARA becomes the first site where state-of-the-art instruments for inland aircrafts designed by the famous Western company will be manufactured.
