Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant increases production 30% in 2010 and plans mass-scale modernization in the next few years, Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant

Ulan-Ude/June 1 – Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant, part of Russian Helicopters, has held annual shareholders meeting summing up the results of 2010.Profit in 2010 reached 18 bln rubles (12.2 bln rubles in 2009), sales profit reached 5.2 bln rubles (3.4 bln rubles in 2009), net profit – 4.5 bln rubles (2.5 bln rubles in 2009).
Leonid Belykh, General Director of Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant, mentioned in his report on 2010 that the production volume increased almost 30%. Deliveries were made for both traditional and new customers: in 2010, Mi-171 helicopters were delivered for the first time to Kenia and Peru. Share of deliveries for state contracts increased up to 30% of the entire supplies. Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant was acknowledged Best Defense Industry Supplier 2010.
Technical overhaul at Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant envisages mass-scale modernization in the next few years. It is planned to apply cutting edge component processing and production technologies using new equipment that has been purchased and launched. It is further planned to overhaul the key production, assembly and testing workshops.
Engineers of Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant implemented changes of helicopter construction aimed at improvement of the technical parameters of Mi-171 and modernization of Su-25UBM-1. An important part of the work was improvement of the quality of products and servicing of the aviation equipment. Especial focus in training of the crews was made on better quality of maintenance and flight safety.
