Aeroflot gets 6 regional carriers from Russian Technologies worth RUR 2.5 bln, Aeroflot - Аэрофлот

May 19, Moscow – according to a state decision, Russian Technologies transfer 6 regional carriers to Aeroflot – Rossiya, Kavminvodyavia, Orenburg airlines, Vladivostokavia, Saratov airlines and Sakhalin airlines. According to the agreement, these assets are estimated at roughly RUR 2.5 bln as of March 31, 2010.
Now, Aeroflot and Russian Technologies are starting the second stage of an integration project of national importance. Aeroflot network now covers various Russian regions and extends outside Russia. As a result, Aeroflot can increase the annual transport volume by 7 mln passengers which is a 50% increase of passenger transport of the Group.

"We are opening an important stage of creating a truly global airline that will be part of the largest players of the world air transport market", - announced Vitaly Savelyev, General Director of Aeroflot. – "Real integration of these assets brings Aeroflot closer to its objective – be one of the top 5 airlines in Europe and one of the top 20 airlines in the world by 2025".

Second stage of the integration envisages further improvement of the business model of each of the airlines in Aeroflot Group and their deep overhaul. To renew the fleet, Russian Technologies has purchased 50 Boeing 737NG aircraft.

Aeroflot, regarding the prospects of its expansion and a drastic increase of the volume of transport, has made a purchase program for the frontline Russian aircraft. In total, Aeroflot Group plans to purchase 126 modern Russian aircraft before 2020, including the new regional Sukhoi SuperJet 100, with active participation of Russian Technologies.
