VK-2500 PS has a 15-20% higher capacity than the basic engine of TV3-117 family and the new digital control system BARK-78. Its mass production starts in 2013.

BARK is an automatic control unit, Klimov’s unique perspective development that protects the engine, saves its resources and allows real time diagnostics.

According to Alexander Vatagin, General Director of Klimov, the main priority for Klimov is to reach the European level of productivity. The steps implemented towards it comprise technical overhaul, purchase of cutting edge equipment and introduction of a new production management system. ‘This is a particular challenge because it changes production management patterns that have formed in the industry over dozens of years. Our objective is to integrate the European management system. Currently, we have the largest productivity (per capita) in the Russian industry however it is still significantly lower than in Europe or USA. In the new engineering center that is being constructed at Klimov and is expected to start working in 2013, we will liquidate this lag. We’re studying a similar project implemented in France and we try to take into account all the newest experience and developments. We have reached stable growth of profit - 1.5-2 billion rubles per year’, comments Alexander Vatagin.
