"Conquest of Siberia" by Unus Safardiar opened in Tolmachevo Airport, Novosibirsk, Tolmachevo Airport (Novosibirsk) - Международный аэропорт "Толмачево"

The unique sculpture "Conquest of Siberia" ("Pokorenie Sibiri") by Unus Safardiar inaugurated in Tolmachevo Airport on Sept 18 continues the modern art traditions. Creation of this unique art piece for the major Siberian airport was inspired by Roman Trotsenko. Protagonist of the sculpture is a famous 16th century personality, Yermak, who is the Russian national hero of exploring Siberia.
From now on, Tolmachevo continues the traditions of many international airports such as the London Heathrow Airport, Kastrup (Copenhagen Airports), the Brussels Airport Company, Schiphol in Amsterdam.

The bronze, silver, steel and acryl sculpture "Conquest of Siberia" by Unus Safardiar was created in 2007 - 2010. Its weight is 15 tons, height - 3.87 m, width - 1.36 m, length - 7.98 m. The bearing capability of Tolmachevo was additionally enhanced to sustain the weight of this art piece, the largest privately financed sculpture in the world, co-authored and sponsored by Roman Trotsenko.
