Russian civil aviation increases passenger transport 31% over 2 months

According to Rosaviatsia (the Russian authority for aviation), Russian airlines have increased passenger transport 30.9% y-o-y to 6.4 mln people in Jan-Feb 2010Passenger traffic over the reported period amounts to 17.3 bln passengers per km which is 36.5% more than in Jan-Feb 2009. The seat occupancy ratio increased 6.5 p.p. up to 72.8%.
Total amount of post and cargo transported over Jan-Feb 2010 is 117,940 t which is a 57.2% increase y-o-y. Cargo flow has increased 54.3% up to 592.8 mln t per km.
The five major Russian carriers have transported 3.7 mln people over Jan-Feb 2010 which is 58.8% of the entire passenger transport. Their share in the entire passenger turnover is 66.8% which is 11.5 bln passengers per km. Namely, Aeroflot has increased transport volume 28.8% up to 1.5 mln people; Transaero increased the volume 73.4% up to 774,966 people; S7 increased it 31% up to 646,110 people, Orenburg airlines - 66.1% up to 220,107 people and UTair - 70.4% up to 607,508 people.
Also, the five major Russian airlines (AirBridgeCargo, Volga-Dnepr, Aeroflot, Polyot and Transaero) have transported about 69.3% of post and cargo on the Russian market, which is 1,717 t.
