Supply of new Sukhoi jet fighters to Air Forces of Russia a top 10 event for the Russian army, Sukhoi Civil Aircraft - «Гражданские самолеты Сухого»

A state contract signed at MAKS 2009 last August for supply of 64 jet fighters to the Air Forces of Russia was ranked as a top 10 event in the Russian army over 2009, according to RI Novosti

According to the documents, the Russian Air Forces will receive 48 Su-35S fighters before 2015, and 12 Su-27SM fighters and four Su-30М2 fighters in 2010-2011. Back in 2008, the Ministry of Defense of Russia and Sukhoi signed a state contract for a supply of 32 Su-34 bombers.

Some other significant events of 2009 for the Russian army, according to RIA Novosti ranking, were the rebranding of the Russian armed forces and the announced plans to purchase a Mistral type helicopter carrier in France.
