Construction of the new passenger terminal of Yakutsk airport inaugurated at the construction site on October 31, 2009
The event was attended by Andrey Illarionov, General Director of Yakutsk Airport, Vyacheslav Shtyrov, President of Sakha Republic (Yakutia), members of the Government of Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Vladimir Chlenov, Minister of Transport, Communication and Informatization, heads of Air Transport Department, representatives of the aviation industry and other participants of the ceremony.

Vyacheslav Shtyrov, President of Sakha Republic (Yakutia), greeted the audience and announced that construction is to be finished on July 1, 2012.

This is a true landmark in the history of Yakutsk Airport. The current terminal has become outdated over 13 years in terms of the requirements to modern airports. The new terminal will be equipped with three telescopic ladders that lead straight into the planes, comfortable waiting lounges, check-in counters, cafes, restaurants, baggage lockers, baggage belts and a chapel.
