Sergey Zaychenko, Informtest Holding - Холдинг "Информтест"

Release Date: 2009-11-02

Sergey Zaichenko, General Director of Informtest Holding, was interviewed by RussianAvia to discuss the current activity of Informtest Holding and its strong position on the Russian market of testing systems ensured by strict compliance with international standards.

2009 was a difficult year for some companies, while others have performed quite well. How has Informtest Holding performed so far?

Sales went up despite the current economic crisis. And, consequently, production did as well.

Were you selling newly manufactured products or products that were on stock?

We do research and engineering for small-scale production, namely 50, 60, 100 devices and specific products that are not sold in mass quantities.

As a Russian company, how international are Informtest Holding´s operations and client portfolio?

We produce for both domestic and international sales. Together with JSC “Academician M.F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems”, we have recently manufactured a special simulator of some parts of a spacecraft that was sold to France. We manufactured a cable test system that we are about to sell to India. We also manufacture VXI and LXI data collection and processing systems sold in the United States. All other products are sold on the domestic market where we have quite a big amount of orders.

We are interested in further expansion on the Russian market. Our main objective is to gain stronger positions on the domestic market, but, of course, we will very much welcome international selling opportunities.

Who is your main competitor on the Russian market?

Our main competitors are the foreign companies: National Instruments, AMS and their distributors in Russia. As for the Russian producers, I can think of MERA, but only concerning very few items that we both produce. Actually, we are the only Russian company whose products comply with VXI and LXI standards. Most of the companies produce their know-how. When there are more companies working under our standards, we will naturally have more competitors.

Has the contract for procurement to India been signed?

Yes, it has been already signed.

Are there plans to expand the business on the vast market of Asia Pacific, in China, for instance?

We are interested in China but currently we only procure some components there as China is not yet our target market. However, we are ready to cooperate with the Chinese companies.

What are the plans for 2010?

Our plans include engineering of new products. We are about to launch about 10 new devices and we present some of them at our stand here in Aerospace Testing. We expect keen demand both in Russia and abroad. All our devices are manufactured under VXI and LXI standards that are international and this compliance is necessary for us to compete with the European manufacturers. If our products were worse and less affordable, someone else would gain a better market position.
