Yakutsk Airport, one of the largest and perspective airports of the Far East federal region. The airport has Interstate Aviation Committee certification for international flights without take-off mass restrictions of aircraft. Technical parameters of the runway were positively marked by federal specialists and foreign airlines representatives.
Yakutsk Airport is the only airport on the permafrost in the range for testing new aviation equipment in low temperature conditions.
The role of Yakutsk airport, located on the joining of railway, aviation, federal and region automobile roads, will take on even greater significance after the cargo-passenger railway was constructed in 2008, making it a multimodal junction to connect the local air transport system with the air harbours of Russia and foreign countries.
